The Refresh Map button is used to redraw the map image after the user has altered visibility settings or altered the list of layers in the Add/Remove Layers dialog box (Custom Maps only). Whenever a change is made to the visibility settings or the Layer List, the user must click the Refresh Map button for the changes to take effect.
Whenever a visibility control is altered, the Refresh Map button automatically highlights as a reminder to the user that they must click the Refresh Map button before the map image will update.
