Previous View

The Previous View tool allows a user to quickly return the map image to the previously defined view (extent). Moving to the previous view will honor the current map configuration.  For example, a user may view a map at the full extent and then zoom in.  The user may then turn on a few desired layers and refresh the map. They may then return to the previous view by clicking the Previous View button in the toolbar.  Doing so will redraw the map at the previous extent and maintain the layer visibility just set by the user.

It is important to note that layers are still restricted by Scale Dependency (if applicable) when moving to previous views. It is also important to note that the Previous View function only returns one previous view.  If the user has already just returned to the previous view or has just started a new mapping session teh following warning will appear when attempting to use the Previous View button.

To return to the previous extent simply select the Previous View from the toolbar.
