Add/Remove Layers

Certain maps called “Custom” maps allow the user to add and remove data layers from the map display. This affords users the ability to configure a map to their particular interests. It is important to note that only specific maps support this functionality. If the button does not show, the map does not support the addition and removal of layers from the map.

To add and remove layers from a Custom Map:

  1. Click the Add/Remove Layers button in the left sidebar.

  1. The Add/Remove layer dialog box appears.

Layers that are currently included on the map will have a check in their associated box, and layers that are not currently included but available will have a blank (unchecked) box.

  1. Check those layers you wish to add to the map and un-check those layers you wish to remove.

  2. Click Refresh Map.

  3. When done adding and removing layers click Close Window.

The map image will be updated accordingly.  Newly added layers are set to visible by default.  Added layers are still subject to Scale Dependency regardless of their visibility.
